Bomb threats used by media to excuse second Trump assassination attempt have no ‘validity at all’

By Fred Lucas | The Federalist Within hours of the second assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump on Sunday, NBC News’ Lester Holt tried to excuse the political violence by linking Trump to unsubstantiated bomb threats in Springfield, Ohio. “Today’s apparent assassination attempt comes amid increasingly fierce rhetoric on the campaign trail itself,” Holt said. “Mr. Trump, his running mate JD Vance, continue to make baseless claims about Haitian immigrants in [Springfield] Ohio. This weekend, there were new bomb threats in that town.” But Republican Gov. Mike DeWine confirmed Monday that all 33 bomb threats were hoaxes. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE FEDERALIST

Takeaways from Hawley report on secret service failures in first Trump assassination attempt

By Fred Lucas | The Daily Signal The Secret Service missed several opportunities to stop the first attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump in July, according to a Senate report released a day after the second such attempt on Trump’s life at his golf club in Florida.  Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., released a 22-page report Monday that says the Department of Homeland Security, the Secret Service, and the FBI all failed to answer the public’s questions about the first attempted assassination of Trump on July 13 during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. “In response, Senator Hawley personally visited the Butler, Pennsylvania rally site to interview whistleblowers, opened up a whistleblower tip line, and encouraged those with relevant information to te...

Ganahl: Kamala’s ‘lawful pathways’ program floods U.S. with 1 million-plus migrants, escalates crime in Colorado’s sanctuary cities

By Heidi Ganahl | Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice In a staggering development, newly released data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reveals that nearly 530,000 migrants have flown into the United States and been paroled into the country under the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris administration's controversial CHNV mass parole program. In addition to this massive influx, about 813,000 more migrants have scheduled appointments through the CBP One app at ports of entry, where they will also be released into the U.S. These so-called "lawful pathways" are new processes created by the Harris administration to provide migrants a way into the country without being counted as illegal border crossings. While these individuals are not crossing the border unlawfully, the programs have dr...

Hillary Clinton says Trump poses ‘danger to our country and the world’ after assassination attempt

By David Rutz | Fox News The Federal Reserve on Tuesday begins a highly anticipated two-day meeting where policymakers are expected to cut interest rates for the first time in four years as stubborn inflation shows signs of continuing to ease. The Fed's policymaking arm, the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), kicks off its meeting on Tuesday and will announce its decision regarding interest rates on Wednesday, when Fed Chair Jerome Powell will also shed light on the central bank's thinking at a press conference. After its last policy meeting in July, the Fed kept its benchmark federal funds rate steady at a 23-year-high range of 5.25% to 5.5% but opened the door to interest rate cuts if inflation continued to ease. Inflation data showed that price growth slo...

‘MS-13 on steroids’: Tren de Aragua Venezuelan prison gang spreading around the U.S.

By Jorge Ventura, Rich Johnson | News Nation It started in a prison in the Venezuelan state of Aragua nearly a decade ago. Now, the gang known as “Tren de Aragua” (TDA) has expanded into what the Justice Department calls a “transnational criminal organization” with branches in most of the Western Hemisphere. TDA figures in more than 100 police investigations around the U.S., including Texas, New York, Colorado and Wisconsin. And, according to reports, its leaders have given members the green light to open fire on U.S. law enforcement. “This TDA is a very special threat,” said former New York State Homeland Security adviser Michael Balboni. “They’ve created a transnational drug pipeline,” he told NewsNation. FBI investigates second Trump assassination attempt

By Miranda Nazzaro and Julia Manchester | The Hill Former President Trump was the target of another apparent assassination attempt while golfing in Florida on Sunday, marking the second attempt on his life in less than three months.   The incident adds to a series of unprecedented events from this election cycle and comes just nine weeks after the former president was shot in the ear during the prior assassination attempt.  That shooting took place at a rally in July in Pennsylvania and sparked a flurry of questions about the Secret Service’s preparation and how political rhetoric might have played a role in the violence.   READ THE FULL STORY AT THE HILL

Hanson: The deadly ‘get Trump’ climate continues

By Victor Davis Hanson, Commentary | Daily Signal Just two months after the failed Trump assassination attempt by one Thomas Matthew Crooks, we witnessed Sunday yet another foiled one, by Ryan Wesley Routh—a would-be assassin and anti-Trump/radical pro-Ukraine War social media addict. Somehow he, too, once again got within relatively easy shooting range of former President Donald Trump. Is there a continued pattern here of lax Trump Secret Service protection, coupled with a general social media and televised climate that equates Trump with Hitler and lowers the bar on assassination? Federal gun charges filed against suspect in 2nd assassination attempt on Trump

By Dan McCaleb | The Center Square Federal authorities in Florida on Monday filed two gun charges against the suspect in what the FBI is calling an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, the second in two months. Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, was charged with possession of a firearm as a felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. Additional charges are expected. Law enforcement officials allege Routh was armed with a semiautomatic rifle and scope just outside Trump's West Palm Beech golf club while the former president was playing the course. A Secret Service agent who was monitoring the course a hole ahead of Trump noticed a man with a rifle, pointing the barrel through a chain-link fence near shrubbery that surrounds the course, a...
