By The Associated Press, via Military.com Two Chinese and two Russian long-range bombers were tracked flying over international waters near Alaska and U.S. and Canadian fighter jets were sent up in response, their joint aerospace command said. By Ireland Owens | The Center Square Members of Congress grilled FBI Director Christopher Wray Wednesday over details of the FBI’s investigation into the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. In fiery speech to Congress, Netanyahu defends war in Gaza and denounces protesters

By Ellen Knickmeyer , Farnoush Amiri and Ashraf Khalil | Associated Press, via Military.com Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended Israel's war in Gaza and condemned American protesters in a scathing speech to Congress Wednesday that triggered boycotts by many top Democratic lawmakers and drew thousands to the Capitol to condemn the war and the humanitarian crisis it has created. Netanyahu vowed to press on with the war until “total victory," disappointing hopes by some that the Israeli leader's visit to the United States could bring some breakthrough in negotiations for a cease-fire and hostage-release. Speaking to applause from U.S. lawmakers, and stony silence from others, Netanyahu sought to bolster U.S. support for his country’s fight against Hamas and o...

Ready or not, DNC gives would-be Harris rivals three days to declare, could push for VP pick in a week

By ELENA SCHNEIDER | Politico If anyone is going to challenge Vice President Kamala Harris for the Democratic presidential nomination, they have only until this weekend to do it. Delegates to the Democratic National Convention rules committee approved the virtual roll call on Wednesday, moving ahead with a July 30 deadline for candidates seeking to collect delegate signatures to appear on the virtual roll call. The virtual roll call, which must be completed by Aug. 7 to comply with Ohio ballot access deadlines, could start as early as next Thursday. The compressed timeline — nominating Harris less than two weeks after President Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential race — nearly guarantees the vice president’s path to the nomination, given the wide swath of support she’s picked...

Trump campaign files FEC complaint to block Biden’s $91M war chest from going to Harris

By Hailey Gomez  | The Daily Signal Former President Donald Trump’s campaign filed a Federal Election Commission complaint Tuesday alleging President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are in violation of campaign finance laws after transferring $91.5 million to Harris’ presidential campaign. The complaint, which was first reported by The New York Times, was filed by Trump’s campaign’s general counsel, David Warrington, and comes after Harris announced her confirmation of delegates to be the Democrat’s new presumptive presidential nominee. “Kamala Harris is seeking to perpetrate a $91.5 million heist of Joe Biden’s leftover campaign cash—a brazen money grab that would constitute the single largest excessive contribution and biggest violat...

GOP lawmaker moves to impeach Kamala Harris over border crisis

By Alicia Warren | Fox Business A GOP lawmaker is planning to hold Kamala Harris "accountable" for her role in the border crisis by filing articles of impeachment against the vice president. Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., joined "Mornings with Maria" on Wednesday to discuss why he’s pushing to impeach Harris as she’s determined to be the Democratic presidential candidate. "We have to hold her accountable and start defining her for her failures," Rep. Ogles said while addressing Harris’ role as Biden’s appointed border czar. "Here’s the thing. We have a crisis at the southern border. We are being invaded. Our kids, our streets are being poisoned by fentanyl. And then crime is running rampant," he stressed. Trump asking for ‘equal time’ on air during Biden’s Oval Office ‘campaign commercial’

By Annabella Rosciglione | Washington Examiner As President Joe Biden gives an Oval Office address to the nation Wednesday, former President Donald Trump is asking ABC, NBC, and CBS to give him equal airtime.  In a letter obtained by the New York Times, Trump’s campaign sent a letter to the three networks demanding he be given equal airtime as the campaign believes the speech will be used as a campaign event. Earlier this week, Biden announced he would address the nation from the White House about his exit from the presidential race and how he plans to tackle the remaining months of his presidency. “It appears that President Biden’s speech will not be a bona fide news event, but rather, a prime-time campaign commercial,” Trump campaign general counsel Davi...

Poll: Just before Biden withdrew, his approval hit a new low of 36% in Gallup study

By TARA SUTER | The Hill President Biden’s approval rating as president hit a new low this month, according to a Gallup survey taken just before Biden announced he would withdraw from the 2024 race. The poll, published Tuesday, found 36 percent of Americans said that they “approve” of Biden’s “handling” of his role as president, compared to 58 percent who said they disapprove. The president’s announcement came after Democratic lawmakers in both chambers urged him to exit the race and make room for someone else to challenge former President Trump in November. Those political headwinds came after a poor debate performance by the incumbent raised concerns over his mental acuity and ability to serve another four terms. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE HILL...
