If Kamala Harris wins

By Roger Kimball | Americanmind.org Sometimes “What if?” questions are merely counterfactual academic exercises. Sometimes, however, they are existential conundrums. The question, “What if Kamala Harris wins the 2024 presidential election?” belongs firmly in the latter category. As I have noted elsewhere, I believe Donald Trump will not only win, but win resoundingly. All the same, the huge influx of illegal immigrants, strategically managed by Biden and Harris to be maximally advantageous, combined with the disastrous state of our voter rolls, might mean even if Trump wins, he doesn’t end up in the Oval Office. So: what if? Imagine you are a mini-Rip Van Winkle. You sink into a deep slumber on November 4 and do not awaken until, say, December 2026. You won’t have missed the original...

Davidson: Kamala Harris is priming Democrats for violent resistance if Trump wins

By John Daniel Davidson | Commentary, The Federalist By now it’s commonplace to note that Kamala Harris often seems out of her depth, like she’s unsure what to say about policy, or how to explain her past positions, or why she hasn’t already done the things she’s promised to do if she’s elected given that she’s the current vice president. But on one particular subject she’s been consistent and forceful throughout her campaign. She’s adamant that Donald Trump will destroy America if he’s reelected. And not “destroy” in the sense of enact bad policies, but that he’ll round people up with the military and put them in camps. She talks about this all the time now. At one point during her Wednesday evening interview with Bret Baier on Fox News, she became visibly upset after Baier playe...

Young: Kamala Harris continues to underperform in critical states

By J.T. Young, Commentary | Commentary, The Hill Kamala Harris is continuing to underperform across the polling spectrum.   Pick any average from the multitude of polling views — two-way, multicandidate, battleground states, and even individual battleground states — and Harris is running consistently below where Joe Biden was in 2020 and Hillary Clinton in 2016.   So it’s no surprise Democrats are growing nervous. Ciarrocchi: How Kamala Harris is doing everything possible to lose pivotal Pennsylvania

By Guy Ciarrocchi, Commentary | New York Post Kamala Harris and Tim Walz have a Pennsylvania problem. Harris, her team and national Democrats finally know it. But does their knowledge come too late? And can they fix it? With his disastrous debate performance in June, President Biden showed the nation he’s old, floundering and not up to the job. Polls confirmed it. National Democrats, including Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama, along with Team Harris, sprang into action. Something had to be done. The “Democratic Politburo” decided — on behalf of 75 million Democratic voters — what the party’s best option was. Out with “Uncle Joe,” and in with the new and improved product: Kamala Harris. Marcus: Kamala Harris can no longer hide from her dangerous stance on men playing in girls’ sports

By David Marcus, Commentary | Fox News For over a decade now, the issue of trangenderism has gained increasing prominence in American politics, which is natural when personal choices begin to intersect with public policy, and for Vice President Kamala Harris, it has risen above the surface at the worst possible time. There have always been policy concerns around the idea that men can simply decide they are women. There were questions about women’s shelters and prisons, locker rooms and bathrooms, but nothing puts quite as fine a point on the issue as men competing in women’s sports. For his part, former President Trump has a clear and concise answer to the troubling phenomenon, telling a Fox News town hall this week, "It’s such an easy question. Everybody in the room and...

Shideler: Drones are swarming U.S. military bases, and our incompetent bureaucracy won’t do anything about it

By Kyle Shideler, Commentary | The Federalist Despite prevailing public and political wisdom that removing homeless encampments is necessary to reduce crime in an area, a new national study looking specifically at Denver’s crime rates after sweeps found the narrative was, in fact, mostly false. “There is no evidence that sweeps make our community safer,” said Pranav Padmanabhan, the Denver-based lead author of the study published Wednesday in the national Journal of Urban Health. Padmanabhan is a graduate student in Public Health at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and one of four authors affiliated with the medical school. The fifth is with the University of California-San Diego School of Medicine. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE FEDERALIST Editor’s note: O...

Quinn Sullivan: While some choose ‘nice guys,’ let’s side with the fighters

By Michael Quinn Sullivan | Commentary, Texas Scorecard It has become all the rage within the woke circles of evangelicalism for “conservative” pastors to take Donald Trump to task in a way they never have with other occupants of—or aspirants to—the White House. They focus on his style without considering results or substance. This isn’t surprising since that’s how many operate in their own ministries. They want us focused on how they play the right music, have fun social groups, or are aspiring members of the new intelligentsia. They hope we will ignore the scripturally irrelevant self-help pablum dispensed from their pulpits. The real problem is that too many pastors and other church leaders are threatened by a “profane” businessman who delivered on his promises to accomplish th...

Haitian migration roils town in key battleground state with signs of pro-Trump support on the rise

By Adam Shaw  | Fox News A small Pennsylvania town has been thrown into a national conversation about immigration into the U.S, after former President Trump pointed to it as a victim of mass Haitian migration --with some residents saying they believe the town is now backing the former president in November. "The small 4,000-person town of Charleroi, Pennsylvania, have you heard of it?" Trump said in September in Tucson, Arizona. "What a beautiful name, but it's not so beautiful now. It has experienced a 2,000% increase in the population of Haitian migrants under Kamala Harris." Charleroi, in Washington County, is a small town by the Monongahela River, that has seen a significant influx of immigrants -- particularly from Haiti -- in recent years. But the extent of that in...

Gallup poll finds majority of Americans feel worse off now than four years ago under Trump

By Wendell Husebø | Breitbart A majority of Americans (52 percent) feel worse off today than four years ago under former President Donald Trump, Gallup polling found Friday. Four years ago the nation was in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, which greatly impacted the economy and the lives of millions of Americans. Despite the crises, Americans believe they were better off. Costs increased by about 20 percent across the board after the Biden-Harris administration assumed office and instituted “Bidenomics.” Russia invaded Ukraine, Hamas and Iran attacked Israel, illegal migrants invaded the southern border, and the nation suffered the deadly Afghan withdrawal. Gallup reported its findings, predominantly shaped by soaring costs: READ THE FULL STORY AT BREITBAR...
