Bill Clinton: Laken Riley would still be alive if Biden-Harris Admin vetted immigrants

By Shawn Fleetwood | The Federalist Just when it seemed that Kamala Harris’ campaign woes couldn’t get any worse, former President Bill Clinton admitted that the death of a Georgia girl, allegedly at the hands of an illegal alien, is the fault of the Biden-Harris border invasion. The moment came on Sunday when the 42nd president was campaigning for Harris-Walz in Central Georgia and referenced Laken Riley, a 22-year-old University of Georgia nursing student whom Jose Ibarra allegedly murdered earlier this year. As The Federalist reported, Ibarra illegally entered the United States in 2022. In a blow to Harris’ narrative as a “tough on crime” prosecutor who’s serious about border security, the former president acknowledged that Riley would still be alive ha...

Walgreens to close 1,200 stores as part of turnaround effort

By Daniella Genovese  | Fox Business Walgreens plans to close at least 1,200 stores over the next three years as the pharmacy giant seeks to reduce costs and turn around operations under a new leader.  One of the largest drugstore chains in the country, Walgreens said about 500 stores are slated to close as early as fiscal year 2025. In June, the company had announced its intention to close a "significant" number of underperforming stores across the U.S. as it contended with profitability challenges and declining margins. But CEO Tim Wentworth, who took over in October 2023, didn't give an estimate at the time of how many stores would be affected. He noted that a "meaningful percent" of the underperforming locations would shutter.  READ THE FULL STORY AT FOX BUSINESS

TheFreePress.com described some of the harms inflicted on youth migrants under the lax policies sex by Biden’s border chief, Alejandro Mayorkas’ tenure: Sex-trafficking victims often suffer horrific abuse, as I discovered when I spoke to Landon Dickeson, the 36-year-old executive director for Bob’s House of Hope in Denton, Texas, the only shelter for male sex-trafficking victims ages 18 and up in the country. Dickeson says they’ve seen teens from Central and South America who have been so tortured by their traffickers they can barely function. READ THE FULL STORY AT BREITBART

Kamala Harris’ book publisher directing ‘very sensitive’ plagiarism questions to higher-ups

By Josh Christenson | New York Post The publisher of Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2009 book on criminal justice reform is redirecting “very sensitive” inquiries about apparently plagiarized passages to the highest levels, according to the conservative activist who revealed the copying. Manhattan Institute senior fellow Christopher Rufo — who first unveiled the plagiarism allegations on Monday — posted screenshots of leaked internal emails ordering publicity reps at Chronicle Books not to immediately respond to press inquiries about “Smart on Crime.” Chronicle executive director of marketing and publicity Lauren Hoffman asked for all inquiries to be forwarded to her, with one employee on the email chain emphasizing that the accusations touched on “a very sensitive topic....

California government blocks new Musk rocket launches, citing Trump support

By Kenneth Schrupp  | The Center Square The California government denied an Air Force request to allow Elon Musk’s SpaceX to increase its California rocket launches, citing Musk’s politics. The Department of Defense and a large bipartisan coalition of lawmakers endorsed the launch expansion, with some center-left housing activists attacking the vote as no different than the California Coastal Commission’s consistent denial of housing.  The Air Force and Space Force had requested that the California Coastal Commission allow SpaceX to increase its annual permitted launches from Vandenberg Air Force Base in Santa Barbara from 36 to 50. Kamala Harris’ career of releasing murderers and drug dealers proves she won’t be ‘tough on crime’

By Beth Brelje | The Federalist Harris’ disastrous policies as the San Francisco district attorney increased crime, freed murderers, and cost lives. Kamala Devi Harris often points to her time as a prosecutor to prove she is a tough-on-crime champion of public safety. And since she is so proud of her record, if elected president, she will try to implement the same policies she tried before. But the truth is that her disastrous policies as the San Francisco district attorney (DA) increased crime, freed murderers, and cost lives. Harris oversaw crime in San Francisco as DA from 2004 to 2010. In her first year, San Francisco saw the violent crime rate increase 19 percent, an upward trend that continued for much of her reign. Her policies, implemented and proposed, drew critici...
