Donald Trump: My plan to Make America Affordable Again, and bring back the American Dream

By Donald J. Trump, Commentary | Newsweek For years, Americans have watched as our country has been stripped of our jobs and stripped of our wealth. We've watched our companies get sold off to foreign countries. But with my plan for the American economy, this will stop immediately. When I am president, we will begin to take other countries' jobs and factories, bringing businesses and trillions of dollars back to the United States. Under my plan, American workers will no longer be worried about losing their jobs to foreign nations. Instead, foreign nations will be worried about losing their jobs to Americans. German car companies can become American car companies. We can beat China in electronic production. Manufacturers that have left us will come sprinting back to our shores. Her...

Heightened ‘significance and importance’ as J.D. Vance, Tim Walz face off in VP debate

By Paul Steinhauser , Brooke Singman  | Fox News With a second face-to-face showdown between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Trump unlikely - and with a margin-of-error race with five weeks until Election Day in November - there's a lot on the line in the vice presidential debate. While debates between the running mates are the undercard of a White House race and have rarely moved the need much in the past, when Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance of Ohio and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the Democrats' nominee, face-off on Tuesday, there will be heightened stakes. Any major knockout blow - or agonizing misstep - could turn what's traditionally seen as a second-tier event into an impactful showdown. READ THE FULL STORY AT FOX NEWS...

Iran fires hundreds of missiles in multiple strikes into Israel, IDF issues shelter in place order

By Stephen Sorace , Liz Friden | Fox News Iran launched dozens of missiles against Israel on Tuesday, a barrage of strikes it says are in response to the deaths of Hezbollah and Hamas leaders. Israel Defense Forces (IDF) warned citizens to shelter in place and follow instructions from the Home Front Command as the Jewish State's Iron Dome anti-missile defense system works to intercept incoming rockets. "During the defense, we carried out quite a few interceptions," IDF spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said after the attack was over. "There are some impacts in the center and areas in the south of the country." READ THE FULL STORY AT FOX NEWS

McRae: It’s time to end the Medicare-Medicaid merry-go-round

By Jennifer McRae | The Hill To appreciate one of the great snafus of American health care, consider the plight of people who are poor, elderly — often with a disability — and insured by both Medicare and Medicaid.    One might think having two insurers must be better than one. But these two programs were never meant to work together. Rather than cooperating, the programs follow rules that create incentives for each partner to shift costs to the other, while patients are stuck in the middle, without the care they need.   For dually eligible Americans, bureaucratic nightmares are their daily realities.   READ THE FULL COMMENTARY AT THE HILL Editor’s note: Opinions expressed in commentary pieces are those of the author and do not necessarily reflec...

Walz’s alleged ties to Chinese Communist Party deepen on eve of VP debate with Vance

By Paul Bois | Breitbart Rep. James Comer (R-Kent.) has subpoenaed Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas about unspecified allegations of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) connections against Democrat Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.  In a letter accompanying the subpoena released on Thursday, Comer said the House Oversight and Accountability Committee received information from a whistleblower about “serious concern among Department of Homeland Security (DHS) personnel regarding a longstanding connection between” Tim Walz and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The letter was issued just one day before Walz is set to debate Trump vice-presidential pick JD Vance in the televised debate on Tuesday. Per the Hill: READ THE FULL STORY AT BREITBART

Babylon Bee sues California over unprecedented crackdown on satire, parody

By Zach Jewell  | Daily Wire The Babylon Bee filed a lawsuit against the state of California on Monday after Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a series of “deepfake” laws that target outlets that publish satire and parody. The complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and shared exclusively with The Daily Wire, begins by noting that in July of this year, Newsom tweeted that a parody video of Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris should be “illegal.” “The legislature heard the call and passed two laws that forbid political expression under the label of ‘materially deceptive content,’” the lawsuit asserts. The complaint explains that one of California’s new laws will require social media platforms to become “state snitches...

The YIMBY push for multifamily housing hits a ‘nope’ from homeowners

By  Robbie Sequeira | Newsbreak An American flag flies above the construction site of a multifamily housing development last year in Los Angeles. In many places, homeowners are opposing state and local efforts to strip away exclusive single-family-home zoning to allow the construction of more multifamily housing. Mario Tama/Getty Images When Minneapolis, then Oregon, then other local and state governments began stripping away exclusive single-family-home zoning over the past five years to allow the construction of multifamily housing, many development advocates predicted the start of a pro-YIMBY revolution. But the “yes-in-my-backyard” movement has stumbled even before it’s really gotten started. READ THE FULL STORY AT NEWSBREAK

Knudsen: Kamala Harris blasted for ‘pitiful’ Hurricane Helene response

By Hannah Knudsen, Commentary | Breitbart Vice President Kamala Harris is facing intense scrutiny — not from the establishment media, but from Americans on social media — for her lackluster response to the damage inflicted on several states due to Hurricane Helene. Hurricane Helene made landfall as a strong Category 4 storm late Thursday in Florida’s Big Bend region. While Florida has been in recovery under the direction of Florid Gov. Ron DeSantis — who is no stranger to unleashing a strong hurricane response, swiftly restoring power, inspecting bridges, and clearing roadways in the Sunshine State — many inland and beyond were caught off guard by the mass devastation in inland areas, such as Asheville, North Carolina. According to the Associated Press, at least 30 were&nbs...

Colorado’s bold move to ban oil drilling sparks national debate

By Felicity Bradstock  | OilPrice.com Earlier this year, Democratic lawmakers in Colorado proposed two pieces of legislation aimed at introducing a statewide ban on oil and gas wells, which would be the first of its kind in the U.S. One of the bills aimed to introduce a ban on new oil and gas drilling permits by bringing an end to new oil and gas licenses starting in 2028. The second proposal would require oil and gas companies to pause production for five months each year. The proposal of such strict limitations on oil and gas operations had not previously been seen and the proposal of such far-reaching laws could encourage other states to follow suit. Environmentalists are calling for lawmakers to bring an end to oil and gas production, with a particular focus on fracking, a tec...
