The Republican has agreed to appear in debates presented by CBS, 9News, Fox31, and Colorado Politics. “Two years ago, [8th District] voters only got to observe one, 30-minute debate in the race for Congress. Voters deserve better,” Evans said in a statement. “There are tremendous differences between [Democrat] Yadira Caraveo and me on crime, the border, jobs and the cost of living. As candidates for Congress, we owe it to the voters to articulate and explain our positions on these and other important issues." By Heather Willard | Fox 31 News Some of Colorado’s livestock producers have renewed their plea to Colorado Parks and Wildlife: Kill the wolves in Grand and Jackson counties that have killed ranchers’ cattle. Several groups wrote letters this week to CPW officials and Gov. Jared Polis asking that the known wolves depredating Colorado ranches be lethally removed. Depredations occur when a predator “plunders” or preys upon a farmer’s crop. In Grand and Jackson counties, wolves were depredating sheep and cattle. Ranchers first asked for the wolves to be lethally removed in April. There were six depredation events recorded by CPW in April alone, involving four calves and four cattle. By Derek Draplin | The Center Square A new report says a ballot measure banning big cat hunting in Colorado would prove costly for state wildlife management and the hunting industry. Initiative 91, which will appear on the November ballot, would ban the hunting of mountain lions, bobcats, and lynx, removing them from the state’s definition of “big game.”  The report, by the Common Sense Institute, a free-enterprise think tank, estimates that Colorado’s mountain lion population would increase by 443 cats, noting an average of 508 were harvested annually since 2019.
