When was the last time the Republican Party won the popular vote?

By Nick Jachim  | The Hill Former President Donald Trump has won the presidency over Vice President Kamala Harris, winning both the electoral college vote and the popular vote, something that has become very rare for a Republican candidate to do since the turn of the century. According to Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ), Trump currently leads the popular vote with over 70 million votes, compared to Harris’ roughly 66 million. This comes as quite a surprise to most Americans and even Trump himself agreed this past weekend that a Republican winning the popular vote is extremely difficult. “When you have New York, Illinois and California, you have automatically, it’s like ridiculous, automatically goes to a Democrat, it’s tough to win the popular vote because t...

Swing-state voter says she broke to Trump because ‘media is more of a threat to Democracy’ than him

By Jason Cohen | Daily Caller A previously undecided Pennsylvania voter named Kim said Tuesday that she voted for former President Donald Trump because she perceives the media as a graver “threat to democracy.” Trump leads Vice President Kamala Harris by .4% in Pennsylvania, according to the RealClearPolling average. Kim, while appearing on journalist Mark Halperin’s 2WAY platform, said the media’s anti-Trump conduct influenced her decision to cast her ballot for the former president. “I feel like the media is more of a threat to democracy than Donald Trump, and I truly believe that … I think that they sway information in such a way that it’s insulting to voters, and they really try to drive a narrative,” Kim said. “Not only in politics, I just feel like a lot of what you read and...

Trump vows to lead ‘golden age of America’ and to ‘fix everything’ in victory speech

By Emma Colton , Brooke Singman | Fox News President-elect Donald Trump addressed his supporters in the nation early Wednesday morning after earning more than 270 electoral votes, vowing he will lead the "golden age of America" after launching the "greatest political movement of all time."  "This was, I believe, the greatest political movement of all time. There's never been anything like this in this country, and maybe beyond. And now it's going to reach a new level of importance because we're going to help our country heal," Trump said just before 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday.  "We're going to help our country here. We have a country that needs help, and it needs help very badly. We're going to fix our borders. We're going to fix everything about our country and we've m...

2024’s biggest loser is the corporate media industrial complex

By Elle Purnell | The Federalist Kamala Harris is only the second-biggest loser of the night. Her media shills are nursing wounds that will take far longer to recover from. In the early hours of Wednesday morning, legacy news networks were already sliding toward 2016 levels of melting down about the increasingly definite prospect of a presidential victory by Donald J. Trump. For them, Harris’ stinging defeat is personal — because it’s just as much a defeat for them as it is for her. The corporate media industrial complex has spent Donald Trump’s entire political career trying to destroy him. Hand-in-hand with triple-letter government agencies and Democrats, they ran a hoax painting Trump as a Russian stooge based on ridiculous rumors commissioned by his opponent’s campaign in 2016...

Unrest on the horizon: Coordinated anti-establishment protests planned across U.S. cities

By Heidi Ganahl | Rocky Mountain Voice Editor's note: Please be advised some unavoidable graphic language appears in this piece. Cities across the United States are preparing for a wave of protests and potential unrest, as various anti-establishment groups signal their intent to take to the streets regardless of the election outcome. From Seattle to Portland, Philadelphia and Tampa, a coalition of groups —- ranging from Antifa to pro-Palestine activists, socialist organizations, and anarchist factions —- are mobilizing to express discontent with the country’s political landscape, decrying both major candidates and the systems they represent. Flyers circulating in several cities, including the ones shared through channels associated with Antifa and other protest networks, convey...

District court denies Libertarian Party’s plea for a hand-count of ballots in Colorado following password leak

By BRIAN PORTER | Rocky Mountain Voice Denver District Court Judge Kandace Gerdes has denied an appeal to seek a hand-count of election returns and other relief sought by the Libertarian Party in a suit against Secretary of State Jena Griswold and the State of Colorado. Counsel for the Libertarian Party had argued the public disclosure of passwords on the secretary of state's website for a period lasting four months before removal was unprecedented, and so an unprecedented resolution was needed. The case was filed Friday, Nov. 1, and heard in Gerdes' courtroom Monday afternoon. https://rockymountainvoice.com/2024/11/unprecedented-mistake-by-secretary-griswold-calls-for-unprecedented-ruling-libertarian-party-argues-in-district-court "In dismissing the petition, the district...

Gun sales expected to surge in a likely anti-gun Harris Adminstration

By Paul Bedard | Washington Examiner Sales of guns took a temporary pause last month as the public headed into an Election Day that could determine the future of the Second Amendment. The FBI said background checks fell, and the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the firearms industry group that parses those reports for sales numbers, said they were down about 5%. Still, NSSF said the market remains strong and recorded the 63rd consecutive month of sales over 1 million. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER

Stock market would crash under Harris’ tax plan, billionaire hedge fund manager warns

By Kristen Altus  | Fox Business A potential Trump nominee for U.S. Treasury secretary, who also happens to be a billionaire hedge fund manager, has explained how Vice President Kamala Harris’ tax plan could send markets into a quick plunge. "In the early parts of her campaign, she was supportive of the tax on unrealized gain[s]. And if that was implemented, I think it would be devastating for the markets and cause a market crash," Paulson & Co. President and founder John Paulson said on "Cavuto: Coast to Coast," Monday. "Harris says she wants to raise taxes on capital gains from 20% to 28%. The corporate tax rate, she wants to go from 21% to 28%, Paulson added.
