J.D. Vance, potentially the next VP, set to attend high-dollar fundraiser in Denver in October

By Ernest Luning | Colorado Politics Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance is scheduled to headline a fundraiser hosted by former U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner in Denver in October, with tickets starting at $3,300 apiece, according to an invitation to the event. Set for Oct. 8 at an undisclosed location, the fundraiser, billed as an evening reception, will be the Ohio senator's first publicly announced visit to Colorado this year. Last month, shortly after naming Vance as his running mate, former President Donald Trump attended a private fundraiser in Aspen with tickets priced as high as $500,000 per couple. Maly: Donald Trump Is Jewish Americans’ best option for President in 2024

By Brandon Maly | Newsweek My great-grandfather was a Holocaust survivor. Many of us believed that the kinds of atrocities he lived through in Eastern Europe couldn't happen again, a history that we vowed never to forget. That was just 79 years ago. On Oct. 7, 2023, the world changed for the Jewish community. Israel experienced the most deadly attack in its history, and it marked the most Jews killed on any one day since the Holocaust. At that moment in time (and since), every Jewish person in the United States who feels any connection to Israel became a single-issue voter. This doesn't mean that Jewish voters will vote exclusively on the most pro-Israel candidate (if both are pro-Israel), but it does mean that Jewish voters will look at insufficiently pro-Israel politicians and si...

‘Yes to parks & rec’: Englewood city staff use taxpayer dollars for yard signs to pass $41.5M bond

By Ashley Portillo | CBS Colorado The City of Englewood is finding itself in the middle of possible campaign violations after the city used taxpayer dollars to pay for yard signs promoting a ballot measure to fund parks. Now, residents are being asked to return the yard signs that say, "Yes to Parks and Recreation - Support Englewood's Parks and Recreation Bond."  If the signs are not returned, the city asks those residents to pay for the cost of the signs. Englewood's city manager called it an "honest mistake," but there is still concern that city staff came too close to breaking the law when it paid for the signs encouraging voters to vote yes on the city's $41.5 million parks bond. Securing Colorado’s elections: United Sovereign Americans to champion integrity in ’24

By Jen Schumann | Contributor, Rocky Mountain Voice By law, if there are more than 21 errors in an election, the results aren’t reliable enough to certify. The Help America Vote Act (HAVA) sets this threshold: one error per 125,000 ballots. Yet, grassroots volunteers with United Sovereign Americans (USA) claim to have discovered 100,693 improperly counted votes and 1,467,380 facially ineligible or uncertain registrations from Colorado’s 2022 election.  USA members discovered this by investigating the Colorado Secretary of State's official voter registration data and voting history records, they say. The analysis was conducted using SQL database queries that revealed thousands of apparent voter registration and voting errors. This data was presented in their Colorado 2022 Gene...

Jacobs: If Harris can ‘eliminate the filibuster for Roe,’ what else can she nuke it for?

By Christopher Jacobs | Commentary, The Federalist Democrats will use abortion as a ‘wedge’ issue to nuke the filibuster, allowing them to enact many other bad policies. What does abortion have to do with the future of fracking in the United States? Much more than one might expect. Kamala Harris’ announcement that she supports an “exception” to the filibuster underscores the stakes in November’s election. If Democrats gain unified control of both houses of Congress and the White House in January, Harris’ statement makes clear that they would undoubtedly use their power to pass radical legislation — not just on abortion but on energy and many other topics. Commentary: Kamala Harris’s holistic failure is reason voters want a change in direction

By Washington Examiner | Commentary Vice President Kamala Harris got one thing right in her speech to the Economic Club of Pittsburgh on Wednesday. “The American economy is the most powerful force for innovation and wealth creation in the world,” Harris said. “We just need to move past the failed policies that we have proven don’t work.” True enough. We need to move past the proven failure of the past four years’ economic policies. Harris is the presidential candidate who has been in power during those years, and there is a reason voters want a change in direction. MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle, who supports Harris for president, touched on this problem in a follow-up interview with Harris, asking the vice president what she would tell the majo...

Harris heads to southern border looking to flip script on immigration criticisms

By Paul Steinhauser  | Fox News Vice President Harris stops in battleground Arizona on Friday to hold a campaign event along the U.S. southern border with Mexico as the Democrat presidential nominee works to turn the issue of immigration and border security from a liability into a strength. Harris has faced frequent attacks from her Republican opponent, former President Trump, and his allies who argue she's weak on border security, an issue that many Republicans see as the vice president's political Achilles' heel. Harris has faced intense criticism over the surge of migrants across the nation's southern border during the first three years of President Biden's administration. The Trump campaign, on the eve of Harris' first border visit as a presidential nominee, called i...

A race with no candidate: 7th Judicial District attorney Seth Ryan withdraws

By BRIAN PORTER | Rocky Mountain Voice Citing a nationwide shortage of attorneys and an inability to hire and retain them, along with for political and personal reasons, 7th Judicial District Attorney Seth Ryan, a Republican, is resigning. He gave a little more than a one-month notice and will not be in place on Election Day. Jessica Waggoner serves as the assistant district attorney, although it was not made clear whether she would lead the office following Ryan's departure. The 7th Judicial District includes the counties of Delta, Gunnison, Hinsdale, Montrose, Ouray and San Miguel. There are 77,286 registered, active voters in those counties. "There is a nationwide and statewide shortage of attorneys that has been exacerbated by an economy that has shown historically low unem...

‘Not the gold standard, a bit of fool’s gold’: Ganahl finds areas of election concern which must be addressed before Nov. 5

https://youtu.be/RgG-ysUlvq4 Ganahl talks about her concerns with Colorado's elections during a press conference outside the Capitol on Thursday afternoon. Lengthy analysis and research into one county’s 2022 election results has brought up some significant concerns, Heidi Ganahl, the Republican candidate for governor in 2022, announced Thursday in a press conference. “I’m concerned that Colorado’s elections are not the gold standard as proclaimed," Ganahl said, “but a bit of fool’s gold.” She is the founder and president of Rocky Mountain Voice, and a noted advocate for free and fair elections. “Verifying the integrity of election systems is not the exclusive role of law enforcement, but the right and duty of the citizens, and the delegated responsibility of...

What did Kamala Harris do with a $42 billion project? Well…

By Katie Pavlish | Town Hall During an interview with MSNBC Wednesday night, Democratic presidential candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris promised to build three million homes should she be elected President in November. She also made the promise during an economic speech Wednesday.  But Harris' record shows she isn't capable of building anything, and it's been costing Americans billions of dollars.  First, Harris was the tie-breaking vote for the "Inflation Reduction Act," which even President Joe Biden admits was a massive handout to the global warming lobby, with expensive subsidies and tax breaks. She also advocated for Biden's infrastructure bill, which included $8 billion to build 500,000 electric vehicle chargers across the country by 2030.  So far, they've built e...
