RFK Jr. in talks about a possible endorsement of Trump

By Alex Isenstadt, Brittany Gibson and Adam Wren | Politico Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is in talks with the Trump campaign about a possible endorsement of the former president, according to four people familiar with the conversations granted anonymity to discuss the ongoing conversations. The discussions between the two sides have been going on for months and accelerated before the Republican National Convention in July, according to a person with knowledge of the discussions. Donald Trump Jr., conservative media personality Tucker Carlson and Trump donor Omeed Malik have been key players in facilitating the conversations, the person said. Donald Trump Jr. has been particularly concerned about the prospect that Kennedy could siphon off votes that would otherwise go to the former presid...

After no policy detail and only brief, rare media exposure, Harris will accept nomination

By Wendy Husebø | Breitbart Vice President Kamala Harris will accept the Democrats’ nomination on Thursday without sitting for one interview, giving one press conference, or providing many policy details since joining the race 32 days ago — July 21, 2024. The strategy is notable for three reasons. First, it is a rinse and repeat of President Joe Biden’s 2020 “basement” strategy to avoid public scrutiny, which counters the multitude of exchanges the media typically conduct when presidential candidates enter races. Second, the strategy underscores the Democrats’ perceived worry about their candidate’s likability and ability to speak off the cuff about policies without delivering a devastating gaffe. More is here on Harris’s word salads. READ THE FULL ...

In epic online troll, Trump campaign creates policy website for Kamala Harris, citing her lack of one

By Steven Nelson | New York Post Donald Trump’s campaign slammed Vice President Kamala Harris Wednesday for still lacking a policy page on her campaign website — and created one for her as she prepares to deliver her Democratic presidential nomination acceptance speech Thursday. “Kamala Harris has yet to tell voters what her policies are, so we thought we’d help them out. Kamala Harris wants to open the borders, raise taxes, and free criminals,” Trump spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said. The former president’s campaign directed readers of its press release to the new website kamala2024policies.com for a rundown of some of the Democratic candidate’s more controversial policy stances over the years. Obama suffers with Trump Derangement Syndrome: He is ‘annoying neighbor using leaf blower everyday’

By Hannah Knudsen | Breitbart Former President Barack Obama made it abundantly clear during his DNC speech Tuesday evening that former President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for president, is living rent free in his head, going on and on about him in his divisive diatribe before later suggesting that it is the political right that lacks tolerance. Obama opened up his speech by praising President Joe Biden, whom he identified as a friend. But it did not take long for the 44th president to devolve into a long attack on Trump, perhaps signaling that he is truly concerned there could be a second Trump term on the horizon. “This will still be a tight race in a closely divided country — a country where too many Americans are still struggling, where a lot of Americans don’t belie...

Lakewood City Council approves ballot measure to permanently lift Colorado’s TABOR limits

By Karen Morfitt | CBS Colorado The City of Lakewood wants to extend a measure lifting TABOR limits for the city. The city council approved putting the question on the ballot which will ask voters to not only extend the measure that expires next year but make that move permanent. "We are asking the voters to be able to continue to retain excess sales tax revenue in excess of the TABOR revenue caps," City Council member Rebekah Stewart said. Stewart also chairs the Budget and Audit Committee. That committee, she says, has spent years discussing the future of TABOR and recent community surveys led to their recommendation to put the question on the November ballot. Biden to DNC: Trump supporters ‘can’t think, can’t read very well’ in flashback to ‘Deplorables’

By Paul Bois | Breitbart President Joe Biden embraced divisive rhetoric during his speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) on Monday night when he said Trump supporters “can’t think, can’t read very well.” The president issued his insult, which echoes Hillary Clinton’s “basket of deplorables” line from 2016, when speaking about education. “How can we be the greatest nation in the world without the best education system in the world,” he said. “Donald Trump and Republican friends, they not only can’t think, they can’t read very well.” READ THE FULL STORY AT BREITBART

Cuccinelli: Maine shows just what’s wrong with ranked-choice voting

By Ken Cuccinelli  | Commentary, Townhall.com Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has qualified for the Maine Presidential ballot in November and in doing so shows just how fraudulent claims in favor of Ranked-Choice Voting (RCV) really are. Supporters of RCV falsely promise it will reduce toxic partisanship, increase compromise, and eliminate extremism from our elections, but in reality the costly, confusing, and complex voting practice has been an unmitigated disaster wherever implemented.  RCV requires a voter to rank each candidate on the basis of ‘least bad’ by assigning a numerical designation to the candidate the voter favors most to the candidate the voter favors least. If no candidate receives more than 50 percent of first-choice votes in the first round of voting, the l...

Evans accepts four debates in 8th District U.S. House race, asks Caraveo to do the same

By BRIAN PORTER | Rocky Mountain Voice Gabe Evans has accepted four debate invitations in Colorado's 8th District race for the U.S. House. The Republican has agreed to appear in debates presented by CBS, 9News, Fox31, and Colorado Politics. “Two years ago, [8th District] voters only got to observe one, 30-minute debate in the race for Congress. Voters deserve better,” Evans said in a statement. “There are tremendous differences between [Democrat] Yadira Caraveo and me on crime, the border, jobs and the cost of living. As candidates for Congress, we owe it to the voters to articulate and explain our positions on these and other important issues." Evans served 12 years in the U.S. Army and Colorado Army National Guard as a Black Hawk helicopter pilot and company commander. He dep...

Kamala Harris’ economic plan: $1.7T in handouts, fed ban on grocery store ‘price gouging’

By Diana Glebova, Josh Christenson and Victoria Churchill | The New York Post Vice President Kamala Harris on Friday unveiled the economic policies she would enact in her first 100 days in office — and it comes with a whopping estimated $1.7 trillion in handouts, as well as government price controls on groceries amid ravaging Biden-Harris administration inflation. Her economic plan includes measures to dole out $25,000 to help first-time homeowners with their down payments and give up to a $6,000 tax breaks for lower and middle-income families who have a child in their first year of life. Harris did not say what incomes qualify as “lower” and “middle.” The housing subsidies alone are “absolutely inflationary” and would “push a $2 trillion dollar deficit even higher,” Bri...

Boebert to debate Calvarese on business issues Sept. 3 in Douglas County

By Ernest Luning | Colorado Politics Republican U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert and her Democratic challenger Trisha Calvarese are set to face off in a debate on business and economic issues on Sept. 3 in Roxborough Park. The lunchtime debate is so far the only meet-up scheduled between the two major party candidates running in Colorado's 4th Congressional District, which covers Douglas County, parts of Larimer and Weld Counties, and the Eastern Plains. Boebert and Calvarese both emerged from crowded primaries for the seat formerly represented by Republican U.S. Rep. Ken Buck, who resigned in March. Republican Greg Lopez defeated Calvarese in a June special election to serve out the remainder of Buck's term. READ THE FULL STORY AT COLORADO POLITICS
