Trump agreeable to meet Harris in debates on ABC, NBC, Fox in September, Trump announces

By Brett Samuels and Dominick Mastrangelo | The Hill Former President Trump during a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago resort Thursday said he had agreed to three separate debates on three different networks against his new opponent, Vice President Harris. Trump scheduled the press conference as his campaign seeks to make Harris’s access to the media a campaign issue. Trump had previously said he would not take part in a scheduled debate on ABC that was initially set on Sept. 10 between him and President Biden. But ABC in a statement during Trump’s press conference said both he and Harris had agreed to a debate on Sept. 10. The former president on Thursday also said he had proposed debates with Fox News on Sept. 4 and NBC on Sept. 25. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE HI...

Youngkin mandates all paper ballots for presidential elections in Virginia

By Timothy H.J. Nerozzi  | Fox News Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin is ordering all votes for the 2024 presidential election to be cast by paper ballot. Youngkin issued Executive Order 35 on Wednesday, which codifies election security protocols established under his governance for all future elections. "The Virginia model for Election Security works. This isn't a Democrat or Republican issue, it's an American and Virginian issue," Youngkin said in an announcement. "Every legal vote deserves to be counted without being watered down by illegal votes or inaccurate machines. In Virginia, we don’t play games and our model for election security is working." Trump, Harris ramp up ground games in battle for swing states

By Susan Ferrechio | The Washington Times The Trump and Harris campaigns are spending millions of dollars on dueling get-out-the-vote efforts in seven swing states that are most likely to determine the November election. The Harris team recently bragged it has built a huge ground-game advantage in the toss-up states, but the Trump campaign denies it. “That is absolutely false,” Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said. Harris campaign aides, most of whom come from the now-defunct reelection campaign for President Biden, said they’ve established far more offices and hired many more staffers than Mr. Trump’s team in the critical battleground states including Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona and Nevada. How long could the ballot be? Nine propositions could make ballot, eight others missed ballot

By Marissa Ventrelli | Colorado Politics The deadline for submitting signatures for ballot measures in Colorado was Aug. 5. To qualify for the November ballot, a measure must receive signatures equal to at least 5% of the total votes cast for all Secretary of State candidates in the last election. This year, that's 124,238.  Measures that propose changes to the state Constitution must meet those same requirements and receive signatures from at least 2% of the total registered electors in each of Colorado's 35 Senate districts. Who is Harris’ VP candidate Tim Walz? A far Left radical, Trump campaign says

By BRIAN PORTER | Rocky Mountain Voice Where does the selection of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as vice president place a possible Kamala Harris-Walz presidential administration on the political spectrum? It cements it as a far Left, radical ticket, the most radical in the country's history, several sources in the Donald J. Trump presidential campaign said Tuesday. "From proposing his own carbon-free agenda, to suggesting stricter emission standards for gas-powered cars, and embracing policies to allow convicted felons to vote, Walz is obsessed with spreading California’s dangerously liberal agenda far and wide," Karoline Leavitt, the Trump-Vance campaign press secretary, wrote in a statement. Walz is soft on crime and "loves" China, opposition research by the Republican Party indic...

Two emerge to be selected by vacancy committee to appear on ballot as Democratic candidate for HD19

By Marissa Ventrelli  | Colorado Politics A vacancy committee will meet on Thursday to select a candidate to replace Rep. Jennifer Parenti, D-Erie, in the House District 19 election. Parenti announced she was dropping out of the race last month.  In a letter announcing her departure, Parenti cited the prevalence of "personal agendas and special interests" in the legislature, which she said made it hard for her to maintain her sense of integrity.  Two candidates, Anil Pesaramelli and James Reed, are now vying to represent the Democratic Party in the November election. Pesaramelli, a software engineer at Kaiser Permanente, previously ran for the Boulder Valley School District School Board. Reed, an IT professional, also has experience on the board, having served ...

Report: Kamala Harris names Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her VP running mate

By Paul Steinhauser , Brooke Singman , Chris Pandolfo | Fox News Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party's presidential nominee, on Tuesday named Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate as she faces off against former President Trump in the 2024 election, according to the Associated Press. The naming of the 60-year-old Walz was not a shocker, as his name was instantly thought to be in contention in the two weeks since Harris succeeded President Biden as the party's standard-bearer. The 60-year-old Walz, a former congressman, is in his second term as governor of Minnesota, a state that Democrats have reliably won in presidential elections for decades but that the Trump campaign has aimed at flipping this cycle. Victims of clergy sex abuse in San Francisco rebuke Kamala Harris for not fighting for them

By Kerry Picket  | The Washington Times Catholic clergy abuse victims in California strenuously objected when Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris described herself as a top-notch prosecutor who went after sex offenders during her time as San Francisco’s district attorney. Joey Piscitelli, 69, a clergy sex abuse victim and advocate for survivors of clergy sexual abuse, called Ms. Harris’ depiction of her record as being tough on sex offenders “bulls***.” “She was handed a room full of cases and boxes of names of sex offenders, and all that in the church right there under her nose,” Mr. Piscitelli told The Washington Times. No voters, no debates — no problem: Party delegates go online to make Kamala Harris the nominee

By Susan Ferrechio | The Washington Times  Vice President Kamala Harris won the Democratic nomination for president without a single primary vote and just 15 days after entering the race, a historic political feat that has Republicans scrambling to reset their bid to win in November. Ms. Harris secured the Democratic presidential nomination Friday after thousands of party delegates took part in an unusual online vote that allowed them to lock her in at the top of their ticket weeks before the party’s national convention begins later this month. “I am so proud to confirm that Vice President Harris has earned more than a majority of votes from all convention delegates and will be the nominee of the Democratic Party following the close of voting on Monday,” Democr...

Kamala Harris ‘a bad vice president’ and ‘a worse president’: J.D. Vance defines his messaging role in race

By Jared Mitovich | Politico J.D. Vance has been trying out different responses to the wave of scrutiny he’s faced since becoming Donald Trump’s running mate. Now, he’s downplaying his own relevance to the election entirely. “My attitude is, it doesn’t really matter, as much as this hits my ego,” Vance said in an interview on the “FULL SEND PODCAST” released Friday. “People are going to vote primarily for Donald Trump or for Kamala Harris. That’s the way these things go. I think my job over the next few months is to just drive home the message that Kamala Harris has been a bad vice president, and she’d be a worse president.” READ THE FULL STORY AT POLITICO
